NEW SAT Essay Elements to use

Hi, I just had a quick question while preparing for my October SAT.

For the essay, I have received 10 from Old SAT essay Scale (out of 12), and I took AP Language course as well.
However, I struggle a lot with writing a good essay for New SAT Essay because my tutor told me not to use the elements that I learned in AP Lang in SAT essay.

  1. So my questions is that is it okay to use the glossary of terms that I learned in AP Lang in the New SAT essay? (like apostrophe, paradox, periodic sentence, understatement, Syllogism, Synecdoche, analogy, and many more)

  2. And can anyone tell the common elements that could be used in new sat essay too?

Yeah, that stuff is fine. My advice, though, is to always analyze diction–word choice plays a meaningful role in every persuasive passage, after all. Others: syntax (sentence structure/length), tone, and allusions. @tiffym
