Basically, it’s recommended to have an introduction, 2-3 body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each body paragraph could include a technique the author uses to further her/his argument. I would recommend this article for more detailed information:

Try to come up with a list of techniques beforehand so you already have a few in mind before even reading the passage. I used tone and diction for two of my 3 because those were ones I knew I could use in any essay, so I went into the test knowing I could use those. Another good one is using statistics/historical evidence. There may be a list online or you could think of some beforehand so you have some “go to” techniques to save time. Also, write five paragraphs and make it long with bigger, more complex words.
^I agree with class0f2017, have a list of writing techniques ahead of time so you can simply look for those specific techniques. I would also suggest knowing logos, ethos, and pathos, because those can be areas in which you can list other techniques that are used in the passage.
