Class of 2006, new SAT takers! 34 more days til we engage in the new test. I am patiently anticipating its arrival.

My question is, who is waiting with me? :)

Class of 2006, new SAT takers! 34 more days til we engage in the new test. I am patiently anticipating its arrival.

My question is, who is waiting with me? :)

count me in. i dunno if i'm patiently anticipating it tho, lol

i'm taking it, but i'm not anticipating it, either. i feel mostly indifferent, i guess. i'm only taking it because the UC's won't accept old sat scores.

I still have 24 hrs to decide if i want to take it or not...

I figure, if i take this test then I will have to study like a madman for the next 1.5 months.

If I take the May 7th one, I will fail horribly. AP testing is around that period and, well, AP tests are available once (maybe twice) a year if youre really lucky.
AP > SAT .

If I take the June 4th SAT, that will give me plenty of time to review (about a month) between AP testing and the SAT. Sounds fine and dandy because most classes will give us a break... and most of my classes (because they are senior classes) will stop doing major work around June 1st.

It's a gamble!

I'm taking it. I'm not really worried though, I mean, I can just take it again and again if I'm not satisfied. :)

i'm in. and grossly underprepared. :D

deus ex same here. I am going to plan at most for about a month. There really is no harm in taking it in March because you can take it again and if you do well enough you can use your other test dates more effectively.

I wonder what the curve will look like.

I think the curve will be something like (from -0, -1, -2, -3)
Math: 800, 790/800, 770, 740/750
CR: 800, 800, 780, 760/770

i think the critical reading curve would be easier than that, since it's supposed to be more lenient for march.

i seriously hope so. i always over-interpret for crit. reading. hmmm maybe the grammar section will be 800,800,800/790, 770, 750...or am i just dreaming? hahaha

Assuming you have a 10+ essay, the maximum MC's you can miss to get an 800 will be around 2 ~ 4......i think..

Discordial, if you're comparing old SAT and new SAT curves, I dont think you can. The NSAT's CR section has less number of questions than the OSAT's verbal section.

really? darn, i was hoping they'd keep it about the same, since even though they're getting rid of analogies, they're adding more passages.

I'm taking it too. I bought a book to study, but just haven't gotten around to it (lazy, I guess). If I don't do well on this, I will just study for the next one in May :).

Is it important for an international to fill in the Sat questionnaire and let the college see?or can I skip that part?

I already signed up for it, mostly because many colleges won't accept the old SAT I took on Jan 22nd. Maybe I can finally achieve the score I wanted this time...not likely though, since I never had any essay practices.

I'm in too. I'm not ready, but I sort of feel like I don't have choice. The May date won't really work for me because I need to study (a lot!!) to do okay on my AP's and the June date won't work because that's when my classes finish so it is when I'm going to take SAT II's in the subjects I am finishing up.

If there's a better way to time this whole test taking thing, please pass along whatever wisdom you have. Thanks

Im in and have not prepared at all.

I was going to take it but it's the same day as the DE science olympiad so...
