Are you getting your application fees waived? Isn't that like 500 dollars worth of fees right there? Your stats look good but it seems to me you're just winning a popularity contest. Your first year in a club you were an officer? It is practically impossible to join marching band and still have time for debate (unless your school is different from mine, but friday and saturday games restrict you from competing). You're stretching your EC's a little thin.

Yes, I'm getting my fees waived. I almost couldn't apply to any privates but then my counselor helped me out.

I was an officer the first year of FBLA because it was it's first year at our school. A bunch of my friends and I helped get the chapter started at my school.

I did band 9th, and 10th grade only and I did speech 11th grade only. This is the only year I've done both at the same time. The band director is really nice about letting us go to speech competition in the morning and then doing the band field show at night.

whoa, whoa. my school actually won a grammy for best music program in the country (beating out even music academies). and the debate team is quite good also... I am not a section leader, that is what they call them here, but my friend is a section leader and ranked first in speech.

So pretty much, you have no idea what you're talking about.

I'm not from texas or anything, but in states like Illinois and Ohio (as i have lived in both during high school) it is entirely possible to perform (and excel) in both marching band and speech.

i kind of want to say that ucb, ucla, and ucsd will be a bit harder than slight reach and match; however, i'm not too sure about undecided. your sat scores seem a little on the low side for those three, but i think your ec's make up for it. i say goodluck with them though, you have a good chance
