Is the new SAT more verbal focused because it has a verbal and writing section. I ask because Im much better at writing/verbal than math. They didnt increase weight of the math did they?

no, math is still 800 points. But, it now includes 2-4 AlgII problems, but dropped comparisons.

it is basically the same.
its just SAT II Writing combined witht he old SAT I. They just removed the analogies and replaced them with more passages.

Yes, I would say that the New SAT is more verbal now since it is 800 points toward Verbal, 800 points towards Writing, and 800 points towards Math. krazy is right about how they modified the old SAT I Verbal and SAT I Math and then added in the old SAT II Writing. The total score is now out of a possible 2400 where 1600 is English and 800 is Math. It is uncertain how colleges will use the new 2400 score. At least for next year, they appear to be using the three parts separately and equating them to the old SAT I and SAT II Writing. My own opinion is that they will continue to do this and will never look at the total (out of 2400) score without examining how it breaks down in the three parts.

Now its a really long and tiring test though. I got bored halfway through the middle and forgot to do a long passage. I ended up having to finish all the (about 10) questions without reading in 2 mins.
