New Stadium & other construction

I haven't heard any official word but it looks like the new stadium is finished. The construction trailers and heavy equipment are gone, the parking lot behind it has been paved and lined, and the road in front has been repaved. This should make campus access a bit easier. The facility looks really impressive, better than any drawings published. I like the spider webs embedded in the wrought iron railings.

The other construction is still in progress. The Weinstein International center has work remaining, but is taking shape nicely. The end looks to be in sight. Curbing is being put in which means the big equipment is no longer needed.

Queally Hall lags behind the others, but it isn't supposed to be complete until December. The big construction crane is still present but the exterior looks to be nearly complete.

The campus looks pretty green despite the drought in progress. The lake is drawn down by a couple feet.

For a close up of the gates at the stadium, check out the profile pic for Parents Class of UR 2014 Facebook page. (I liked them too!) My daughter is driving down tomorrow to give a friend (and potential Int’l student) a tour. I’m sure she’ll be impressed with the progress.

I can’t wait to drive down for a game in the new stadium! Spider parents, get those kids of yours going to the games!

The stadium is just getting minor touches currently (finishing the suites, scoreboard, pressbox, etc.). The campus is looking great, and having the stadium on campus is going to be absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, no night games this year but it will be an awesome experience when we finally have one. 1,700 seats are being reserved for students per game.
