Yulman Stadium - Homecoming and Family Weekend

The ticket office said they had less than 3,000 season tickets left and today they would start selling those as individual game tickets to current ticket holders. My guess would be the Ga Tech opener and homecoming would sell first. The ticket office number is 504-861-WAVE (9283) if anyone wants to check with them.

Got our tickets to homecoming game today…$35 a ticket…

Oh well, it will be fun I hope. I wonder what they were at the Dome?

Just saw that the home opener sold out in 14 minutes! Go GreenWave!
<a href=“At 10am Georgia Tech @ Tulane tickets went on sale, at 10:14am SOLD OUT”>http://csnbbs.com/thread-698566.html</a></p>

Daughter is incoming freshman, just ordered tickets to the Homecoming football game for hubby and me this morning-Section 124! Ordered through TicketMaster.

It is great that Yulman is generating so much buzz. I never saw this kind of enthusiasm for Homecoming when it was still in the Dome.

My son (a Sophomore) hasn’t been able to get tickets, so for Parents’ Weekend he is sitting with us. We had no problems getting tickets (perhaps because we had to pay?). I’d rather the school held back more student tickets, however. They’re better fans.

Totally agree, @newtrierdad‌. It seems unfair to me to charge a fee that is supposed to cover attendance at games and then not have enough seats. Hopefully it will sort itself out soon, balancing “for sale” tickets with student availability.

Weird thing about the new stadium on TV. The current placement of the TV cameras shows the high priced chair back seats down low at mid-field in the back ground. Those high rollers presumably are spending their time up in the air conditioned club level. So even though the two home games have been sell outs, on TV all you see are empty seats in the most prime area of the stadium. In most stadiums, the club level and swank boxes are up high (out of camera view). If the first row of seats on the 50 yard line are empty, the TV viewer assumes the rest of the stadium is empty too. Check out the most recent game on ESPN3.com and you will see what I mean.

Stadium otherwise looks great.

I did notice that too, but I figured there were all out eating oysters, gumbo, po’ boys, etc. LOL. When they showed a more aerial shot, it looked pretty full.

Seriously can’t blame them for taking a break from the heat! That is the one and only advantage that the dome had over Yulman!

Very true. The first couple games should be played at night!
