New to CC!! Questions about Pre Med Classes!

Hey new to the forum! Im transferring to Rutgers soon and im gonna be continuing my psychology degree but i want to take premed courses. I know the med school requirements are 1 year of General Biology/1 year of General Chemistry/1 year of Physics/1 year of Organic Chemistry.

What are the Prerequisites to General Chemistry 1?

Can I take Gen Chem 1 one semester and then Organic Chem 1 the following semester or do i need to complete BOTH Gen Chem 1 AND 2 in order to take Organic Chem 1??

Will my General Biology 1 class I took in Comm college be counted? If so can I take General Biology 2 and be finished or when they say 1 year of GENERAL Biology do they just mean two nondescript/specific biology courses?

If someone can give a list of prerequisites for these classes at Rutgers that would be awesome!!! I really need help im in a reallyyyy complicated situation and need to plan my classes a few semesters ahead!! Thanks!

The prereq for Gen Chem 1 is Precalc.

You have to complete both semesters of Gen Chem before starting with Orgo 1.

To check if your community college credit will transfer, check out www.njtransfer.org . You put in your community college and the program you will be in at Rutgers and it gives you the course equivalency and if it transfers.

All of the biology courses have Gen Bio 1 and 2 as prereqs anyway, so you’re better off just taking Gen Bio 2 and you complete your year of biology requirements for med school.

In the future, you can check prerequisites and course schedule by using the Rutgers Online Schedule of Classes.
