Hey have you guys seen this new drawing tool from Wacom? It's called the Inkling and it looks like it would be really useful if I just knew how to draw. :/ Here's the link:

** Disclaimer ** I have no connection with Wacom or this product... I just thought it was cool and maybe some artists here might like to know about it.

Wheaty…my husband will looooove this. He draws constantly. It will be perfect for his comics. I think I might keep it a secret and surprise him with a gift.

Drae,
I was thinking the same thing - a cool gift for the artist in the family!

Bears,
I saw the Kindle Fire announcement right after I posted about the Wacom Inkling and I thought the same thing. 200 bucks must be the new price/pain threshold.

Yes this is a really good thing. I’ve never talked about CAA because I thought everyone here knew about it through their respective schools. If your daughter isn’t a member of CAA she should definitely check it out.

Last year’s show was in NYC (at the Javits I think) and this one is in LA. My daughter will go with most of the kids in her studio classes.

I didn’t know CAA, no idea what that is :—(
I think D didn’t know either. I will let her know.
I am very limited on art related things and am trying to catch up. It is hard to a foreigner, I came from China.
Last night I saw this and it is in LA, then post it here. Now I really feel myself like a fool!

No no, the fault is mine for making the assumption that CAA was common knowledge. If you didn’t know about that means many others don’t either. I’ll write a post about it this afternoon.

I interned for a silk screen printer who drew her own illustrations on one of these (or a similar product). It’s extremely useful, especially for that purpose because she had to print her final design onto transparency.
