<p>So, it wasn't as bad as feared. 4.5% increase for in-state, 3.7% for out of state. Nowhere near the 10% they had mentioned as a possibility. </p>
<p>In light of the whole budget situation, I guess this is about the best we could have hoped for.</p>
<p>Still, no increase at all would have been a nice surprise :-)</p>
<p>So what exactly is the tuition for 2009-2010?</p>

<p>In-state tuition at UP will be $13,604 (more for some majors). Because the state allocation has not been set there is still the possibility of a mid-year tuition hike. I also read about at least one new fee that will be tacked on to housing costs.</p>
<p>Out-of-state tuition at UP will be $13,717.00. This number is for tuition alone with no other fees, housing, etc. Why is it the same as in-state?</p>
<p>The Student Aid office lists tuition and fees @ “PA Resident: $14,426.00, Non-PA Resident: $26,020.00”–
