Does anyone know when the new usnews undergrad rankings come out?

Aug 17
Ignore the "preview" rankings you see in some of the postings on this board...not accurate.

So, do you guys think there is going to be movement for psu?

I'm pretty sure its' staying in the top 50, but not sure if its gonna move up or down from that 47th spot.

I am hoping we can move up to 45th. I guess we'll see.

how about Florida state?

Down, FSU will go down, Miami up and UF the same. The rest, who cares...

US news is biased against publics. I wouldn't be surprised if all the publics go down in rankings this year.

I don't know, but if I were to make a prediction, I would say PSU will stay in the same spot (dull, I know). If the admission data used for the 2008 edition is for accepted freshmen entering this fall and the 2007 edition used data from the incoming class back in 2006, I don't see why the elements for PSU would have changed. The main difference is that there were about 2,000 fewer students admitted this year, but from what I have seen, the selectivity did not get any more rigorous. So, I would say any shift will be a result of other schools moving around, methodology, or perhaps a general trend against public schools (due to the prestige factor, for instance).
