Newbie Transfer Biology Major

I was just wondering if Texas Tech is a good school to transfer too I've read some discussions and some of the replies, and I'm still wishy washy about about making this decision,I'm African-American and also a Biology Major/ Pre-med student and I was just wondering if the school is diverse, is it worth going into the Honors College and for the Honors College does anyone have any experiences? is it difficult and does it benefit my major?

I also wanted to know about how tuition was for some of the transfer students did you have to pay any unnecessary fees and were you able to get the transfer merit scholarship that they offer?

(Per TTU’s website)

Texas Tech University’s current enrollment is more than 31,000. Approximately 64% of the student body is Caucasian, and 36% are from ethnically diverse populations. Hispanic (17.6%) and African-American (5%) students comprise the largest ethnic populations on campus.

I applied and was accepted to Texas Tech both last year and again for the Fall of 2015. I ended up finishing my associates before electing to transfer next. When I received my financial aid package last year, I was able to get transfer aid, in addition to that, if you’re from out of state like I am, it qualified you for in-state tuition. I was able to get two transfer scholarships.
