Newly admitted student - housing & deposit - still unsure

Hi everyone,

I am a fall admitted student for the 2019/2020 upcoming year. I just attended students admitted day and I loved NU. I have not fully committed nor paid my deposit yet as there were a few other schools I wanted to visit but I won’t be able to visit until two weeks from now. I read on the brochures handed out that housing is first come first serve based on when they get your deposit. I don’t want to be stuck horrible housing or housing that is not right on the freshman main area where the students house but I don’t know anything about how housing works at NU. Are the freshman housing basically all the same or is there some that is so much better than others that one would want to send in deposit now if they are pretty sure they are going? If anyone has some insight, that would be great!

Basically all the same and based on LLC choice not building. Don’t rush it, I’m not sure where the housing would be allocated first come first serve given the role of LLC’s. There was a case where this was different when Northeastern (and many other schools in the Boston area) overenrolled two years ago but they have been much more cautious since.

LLC’s grow and shrink based on student selections year to year.
