Next Year's APs

that's great, peck. Don't be constrained if you can help it :)

AP Comparative Gov
AP US Gov
AP Calculus AB
AP Euro
AP American His.
AP Spanish
AP Physics
AP Computer Science A

AP Biology
AP English Literature
AP European History

Okay, this is the slacker's schedule. lol

Taking at a school:

Calc BC
English Lit

Self-study:

Micro/Macro (if I can find a school that offers it)
Psych. (same as above)

I might take the Russian test, too, since that study will be my main focus next year anyway, but I'm still debating it. Taking the test might be pointless since by May of my senior year, I'll hopefully be admitted into a uni. The only reason to take the test would be for placement, but a lot of times the uni's Russian department provides placement tests for free. Key word: Free, not 82 dollars. I might also have trouble finding a school that administers AP Russian. :-/ I wish AP tests were administered like SAT II tests.

Wait, AP russian exam is offered next year?

Wow, my school only offer 6 AP classes
AP. English, cal, us history, bio, stat., psychology,

In regards to AP Russian, it probably won't be offered next year. It's still being studied as to whether it will be part of the AP program.

I hope it will be offered

Ap Physics B
Ap Comp Science A
Ap English Language and Composition

AP Gov
AP Chem
AP Calc

.. in my school no one takes 10 ap exams and we have a bunch of ivy league kids every year

5 or 6 ap exams is probably average for the advanced students in my school

AP English Lit
AP French
AP Physics
AP Calc BC

My school doesn't offer advanced Gov't or Econ classes. :( But I'm happy with 4 AP's.

tests:
ap gov
ap macro/micro econ
ap physics C
ap comp gov
ap calc ab
maybe physics E&M

AP Russian-- I saw some HS schools offering the class already. (Langley HS in VA, one of the top HS, for example) Maybe they know something we don't know? lol

kto-to... we'll probably be like two out of the first 100 kids that take the test. hehe. Cute name, by the way!

Sorry, I can't let this go... I'm too excited.

This was on AP central:

In collaboration with the College Board and with funding from the U.S. Department of Education and the National Security Education Program, an advanced Russian Language and Culture course and exam is under development through the American Council of Teachers of Russian (ACTR). Currently under review, the course could possibly be offered as early as fall 2005, with the first exam administered in May 2006.

And then there's that big conference happening late July. Methinks that the test will be further discussed then, but it's pretty much in the bag.

In the bag? Please.

AP Italian is in the bag for 2005-2006.
AP Chinese and AP Japanese are in the bag for 2006-2007.
AP Russian is in the air.

How? AP Italian, AP Chinese, and AP Japanese all have details on their roll-out. AP Russian? A brief paragraph stating that it's possible.

And, methinks that the AP Conference is a yearly event and is mostly for educators to brush up on their teaching skills.

Didn't have to be a jerk about it.

how do you guys manage all those APs? do you HAVE a life? i'm STILL contemplating taking 4, if that would be too much... (max most people take here are 2.)

ap english
ap calculus ab
ap francais
ap enviromental sci (maybe.)

AP English
AP Calc BC
AP Spanish
AP Chem
AP Physics
AP Euro
And yes, I have a life, although some of my friends would disagree. I play sports and do other stuff and I even have friends and a boyfriend. The sacrifice is sleep. As long as you can function on 6 or less hrs a night then you have plenty of time for 6 APs. Then again, maybe my school's AP classes aren't as rigorous as others. I'd say go for the four APs as long as you don't mind working hard.

AP Italian
AP Goverment
AP English Literature
AP Physics C
AP Calculus AB

Senior yr will be hell.... but oh well!!

6 for me in my senior year.

AP Spanish
AP English Language
AP US History
AP Computer Science
AP Physics
AP Calculus

I'm also considering self-studying for AP World History, if I have the time.

APs in my school really aren't all that difficult, at least not the ones I've taken. The first we can take is AP Euro, and while some people thought the class was difficult, only a few people didn't pass the exam out of 60-something students who took it. I think my school has an excellent method of doing it: the class is rigorous, but not insane, and prepares one well for the exam.

Not that there aren't exceptions. AP Computer Science is, according to my boyfriend, utterly worthless when it comes to the exam. And both AP Physics and AP Chemistry are said to be GPA killers. But oh well. Overall, the APs are quite well done.
