<p>On the common app it asks for Academic awards, so would speech/debate be included there or under the activity of speech and debate. Technically speaking, NFL is an honor society and the problem is that I have so much under the club already that if I put my awards under my activity section it would be roughly half a page. Also, at our high school, speech/debate team is a class, so would that make it academic? I have another question as well that might be a humorous juxtaposition to the debate one. What about beauty pagents, lol? It sounds ridiculous, but they had academic awards and talent/interview, etc. That would be considered academic right? Sorry, am I reading too much into the "academic" part on the common app? Any help is appreciated.</p>
<p>Yeah, I'm wondering a similar thing regarding letters for band class. Is that a "scholastic distinction"? Where would you put things like "__ chair all-state band"?</p>
