NHS

Hello! I’m a junior and I didn’t get into National Honor Society. Would this look bad on my college application?

Getting into NHS does not help much anyway. This is something you can live without.

Ok. NHS is basically like fluff to someone’s application I’m guessing. Because so many people have that on their application, I’m assuming that it wouldn’t be significant to an admissions officer unless you held an officer position in NHS and made a difference in the club.

Your assumption is correct.

NHS is one of those things where if you get in, that’s ok. It is just a very small and insignificant portion of your application. NHS usually involves very little work (unless you are an officer) so colleges don’t care too much.

If you fail to get in, oh well, it doesn’t really matter.

It will help you, but it won’t matter to the extent that your application will be hurt without it.
