does anyone have anything nice to say about social life at franklin and marshall? all the comments i've read seem negative. i'm trying to decide which school to attend in the fall and only have a week left :-x

no there is really not anything nice to say about F&M's social life that is why you haven't heard it. I suggest strongly thinking of your options and what other place are u considering

i'm also considering colby college. anything to say about that? (the comments i've heard about it are generally more positive...)

Hm, my a cappella group sang with the Blue Lights at Colby and they threw us an excellent party. Don't know if it was a typical weekend there or not, but we had a very good time. The college administration was also really lenient about the social life -- they looked the other way re: the party, gave the Blue Lights meal plan tickets for us and let us stay in a dorm lounge. Very different from some more tight-a$$ed colleges we've sung at.

Yeah Colby is the definite winner in this comparison. Franklin & Marshall is a good school but not only is Colby more prestigious but it happens to be much better academically.

F&M is mostly Greek loving kids who want to delay the real world experience by isolating themselves in middle of nowhere Pennsylvania for 4 more years.

Most kids concentrate on partying more then academics so you will realize like many others have that the student body at F&M is clearly not up to par with what the school claims.

If you are debating going to Franklin & Marshall vs. Colby I sugest Colby hands down without a doubt it will be better both academically and socially because you have other schools like Bowdoin and Bates.
