Great photos. My D1 is a singer who had scheduled some campus visits and Music faculty interviews at some high-powered places, so in her junior year of HS I suggested that she do a preliminary visit to Furman, which isn't far from home. It has a nice music performance program and I figured it would be a good rehearsal for interacting with faculty. But after all the college visits were done, I felt Furman was the best host for prospective students of all we experienced. Other than the clear lack of diversity which ruled it out for D1, I loved it. The campus is breathtaking, the students happy and friendly; the faculty and staff go out of their way to welcome you and speak with you. It was like going to a top hotel where they train the staff to greet people and go beyond the call. On the tour we were told that Furman students bond so much with each other and the university, that nearly a quarter of them wind up marrying each other. There are more fountains per capita on that campus than anywhere else on Earth, I'm sure. Maybe more swans per capita, too. And downtown Greenville, a few miles away, is a wonderful place (despite Bob Jones U. sharing the town). If the prospective student finds the culture comfortable, Furman's a gem.

Thanks a million for this post-our twins will be arriving on August 21st and gadad is correct-everyone I have come into contact with is terrific. Both kids had great choices for schools and I believe Furman will be a great place.
