<p>Hello i am a senior in high school right now choosing between high point university and loyola. I know both schools have great academics. My brother attends ithaca and while he is getting his work done, he is also having the time of his life by going out to clubs and house parties every weekend. Obviously night life will not be my only deciding factor on what college i go to, but i know loyola maryland is surrounded by a large city and i know that they go to clubs and parties there. how is high point? do students go out to clubs together? are the parties good/fun? I want to take my academics seriously but i also know i am only young once so i want to have a great college experience as well. if a current student could comment on this or message me or something that would be extremely helpful!</p>

since no one has commented I’ll jump in the meanwhile. 
I’m not a student but I got the impression that some do leave campus and meet up with others at local schools like Elon and Wake as they are both about 25 mins away. I can’t comment about the club scene. I know the school likes the concept of keeping the kids on campus as much as possible. I don’t believe High Point itself has much of a night life from my visits but I think it would really depend on who you meet and become friends with. If you have friends with cars, etc…that enjoy heading out to the clubs you may find yourself heading out to them more often. I know this is not much help but figured it was better than nothing! good luck to you! :)</p>
<p>Also not a student, but my son is a Jr. at HPU and I get the impression that his weekend activities are on campus rather than off. High Point, NC is nothing like Baltimore in terms of nightlife. He’s never bored though and doesn’t complain about lack of things to do.</p>
