Nightlife at BC?

Since it is a religious school, how is the nightlife? Are there parties on campus or nearby? Its not that all I want to do is party, but I want to have a fun college experience.

There are plenty of places to party at BC. Most of the nightlife goes on either in the Mods, in off-campus apartments, are at local bars in and around Cleveland Circle. However, as a freshman guy it is very difficult to find parties and you usually have to know someone. After freshman year it is definitely not a problem though.

everyone besides an attractive girl that would just be welcomed anywhere needs to know someone

there aren’t many open parties that you could show up to. and if there were, u would need to know someone to find out

bars are quite popular but u need to be 21 or an ID-which needs to be legit or else

long as you have friends you won’t have much trouble finding a party. as a freshman, it was considerably harder than as a sophomore now

I’m still in high school, but one of my good friends goes to BC and he’s told me that there is a lot to do, with Boston right next door (I also live in the suburbs of Boston so I can attest to the greatness of Boston haha). He often goes to the Mods for parties, too. The best thing about Boston is that it is overflowing with colleges, and a train, taxi, or bus can you get you pretty much anywhere, so theres always something to do.

In my opinion BC is definitely “work hard, play hard.” If freshmen can’t get into parties many drink in their dorm rooms and hope RAs don’t come knocking. Connections definitely helps, such as upperclassmen friends, older siblings or people from your high school.

Around football season many people pregame the football game, which in my opinion is a huge waste of season tickets since they end up leaving at the half, but tailgating is everywhere.

You have to be pretty lucky or know a few upperclassmen if you plan on going to wild parties as a freshman guy. For attractive girls, there are a lot more options.

The one thing that has really ****ed me off about BC after finishing my first semester is how incredibly inclusive most parties are. It is very difficult for freshman in general to go even near the mods or to an off-campus party without getting glares or hearing a few “go back to upper, whores!” from some drunk people unless you’re walking in a crowd with upperclassmen. I might have just been unlucky those times but it really turned a lot of my friends off to the partying scene so now we just stay in our dorms and hope we don’t get caught.

It’s fun and all but the big life “party school” is not all that open here.

BC is not much of a party school as you would expect it to be. Admissions have become significantly more selective over the years, and students are much more focused on their academics. Now, granted, there are plenty of parties around campus- but as everyone else already mentioned, they’re quite inclusive, and involve nothing more than binge drinking.
