NIH Summer Internship Program

Have any of you CCers been accepted to work in the summer this year?

If you sent an email to an NIH researcher 2 weeks ago, you should probably give up on that one right?

not necessarily, but may be worth your time to contact another one.

^So you’ve contacted one?

I’ve waited for about 2 weeks on these two researchers. I have a feeling that I got rejected.

i applied last year, but didn’t do anything more than send in the app. it took ages to get a rejection.

good luck.

I already got my volunteer position at a lab (at least the pi returned my email saying basically he loved me!) But last time he emailed me saying he was impressed was 2 months ago. When does this usually start, I mean all the paper works for the actually internship? SHould I email him? I dont want to like annoy him though. In a dilemma here…

Sorry to bring this post back, but when I emailed the person I wanted to work with, she never replied. So I called her, and she was like “Oh yeah, come in for an interview”. I ended up interning there last summer, and got invited back for this summer. These people are busy and forget to reply. When I called my mentor in March (I think), she hadn’t actually started looking for people yet. Call, don’t just email.

Yesss. Im super exited. Going to be the best summer ever.

Can anyone inform me when we will get the official notice for the internship??? If the pi emails me back and says he has a position open, that means I can go, right? I emailed him 2 weeks ago and he hasn’t emailed me back.
