Nike vs. Towers

Can you guys tell me about your thoughts on Nike and/or Towers?

Community?
Location?
Dorm Size?

Is towers worth the extra cash?

Thanks,
Jason

It all depends what you are comfortable with. If you have the opportunity to live in the apartment style dorms in Nike I would definitely tell you to go for that. If it is between the shared Nike room or apartment style Towers room, it is up to personal preference and whether or not you can take the financial hit. I lived in Nike last year, and found living with a random room mate challenging so I was happy to switch into the Towers this year. The location is pretty prime and it is nice to have my own room. But I am not really sure it is worth the money. The location is awesome, but the accommodations are not exactly worth 3,000 + dollars a semester. Not to mention, in order to park your car close to your dorm have to pay around 500 dollars a school year (or park across the street for 80 a school year and worry about getting towed during various events.) The towers is not all that it is cracked up to be, but if you wouldn’t mind spending the extra cash I would say go for it. If it will bother you that the extra cash isn’t exactly worth it, then don’t do it.

As a freshman the apartments in Nike are not available to you. Those are reserved for upperclassmen.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I would be transfering in and am not a freshman.

Thanks,
Jason

For transfers, its very difficult to get into anything but the towers.

My daughter has lived in both apts. (Nike and Towers). Towers is much nicer and has a dishwasher (Nike dosen’t).

how about lake claire for a freshmen? he does want his own room and the towers seem better for sophmore year? any thoughts?

where is the best place for a freshman to live overall? I want to live in the towers, but I have heard from some people that it is great and from others that it is too far from everything. Are there many freshmen who live in the towers?

My daughter lived in the Towers as a Freshman (and still does as a sophomore). Her apt. had one other freshmen, a sophomore and a junior in it…but it was a 4 bed/4bath (usually upperclassmen). She told me that most of the 4/2 apts on her floor were all freshman. She felt it was close to everything and loves the location.
