NJ Governor School '07

yeah well I tried out for music and I must say that the audition was somewhat unfair. Lets just say that other certain musicians who knew some of the adjudicators beforehand got more time to jam then other musicians. The system was totally unfair and was too laid back.

i was there for the final auditions too (for cello). a friend of mine knew one of the judges ahead of time, which wasn't fair.
but word on the street is that there's only going to be one string quartet this year. anyone know?

ack!! int'l studies (and public issues, i believe) were supposed to come out last week sometime, and it's now april 3rd and still no word! i'm getting very antsy here. did anyone hear yet? i'm somerset county.

Nothing in Middlesex for the arts, but the website said they'd be mailed on or about april 3.

mine was about five minutes long (visual arts) but the kid before me took about half an hour. i have no clue whether that's really good or really, really bad. i was the last one to go, if that makes any difference.

we'll probably all hear back before friday.

Public Issues was supposed to be sent out.. on or about 3/28. (According to my letter).

Nothing yet. =/

to previous gov schoolers: do u still remember when u guys got back letters last year?

Arts letters were mailed on April 4.

mailed april 4...so arts people will know by tomorrow (april 5)??
ahhh, the suspense is killing me!

The recording said that if the letter hasn't arrived by tuesday, to call the GS office. I would think it would come sooner, though.

Bummer! My D was rejected for film. She's putting the best spin on it. She says she's going to be happy because this leaves her summer open, and she's still proud that she made all-state choir. Oh, well. Now the career search will no doubt continue! lol

yea...i got into the GS of international studies...don't really know how this happened lol....got a nice big envelope in the mail....YAH!!!!!!

just got the letter! don't be scared if it's a thin envelope, because they said they'll mail the big packet with all the information/housing crap in june. YAY! i wasn't expecting this at all. congrats to everyone else!

I got rejected from International Studies. But, I don't feel sad or anything.

did anybody hear back from engineering.. im really nervous..

I just got into International Studies!
Has anyone been? What is it like?
Also, out of curiousity, is it really competitive to get into governor's school?

just got the letter saying that I was rejected from Science, but im actually feeling much more relieved than before now that I can do whatever I want lol after all, i wouldnt wanna spend the entire month at drew (i really didnt like the campus when i was there for academic decathlon). so i guess im finally free! =D congrats to all of you who got in, though.

^Yeah, on some level I was hoping not to get in. I had this internship in Washington lined up that would have worked if I could do it for 2 months, but now July is out of the picture, so I can't do it. It kind of sucks, as I think it would have been more fun. Oh well.
Where on earth is Ramapo anyway?

i think it must have been very hard to get in this year since they all ran low on their budgets. a friend of mine with disgustingly fantastic stats from other school didn't get into sciences either. well, im assuming that they are accepting less people this year? who knows. im FREE anyway. lol

In at NJGSS '07. Pleasant surprise.
