NJ Governor's School of the Sciences 2016

Just realized that there hasn’t been in a discussion thread for Gov School made yet, so I thought I’d make one. I kinda half-assed my essays the night before they were due, so I’m not expecting much.

How many students do you think were put on the waiting list?

Probably 10 or so. I received a rejection letter myself, really sucks that they’re limiting it down to only 50 this year.

How did you find out that they accepted only 50 people ? Was it on the program’s website?

It was in the email that I received

Oh ok , thanks for answering my question .

I got in! Did anyone else here get in?

I did too

So I made a thread for this and I find this thread now lol its fine. I wasn’t on this thread before but I got in!

Do you know how many people got in or what the acceptance rate was?

I wasn’t sure that I would get in because I thought my essays were pretty bad, but I did have good grades and test scores.

Edit: Wikipedia says that 85/400 people were accepted in 2013 (21%), but that was three years ago

Yeah they cut it down to only 50 this year because of budget cuts, so the acceptance rate was only 12.5% this year. I had good grades and test scores as well, but had the meh essays as well. Also, I don’t really have any science ECs so that was probably also a major drawback
