nj governor's school results

no... chem was easy, i didn't study at all... lol... actually i didn't do much chem in chem... and lavendardream... isn't it lavendar* sorry i... w/e lol i was scoring 750+ for the practice ones then... bam 690... maybe i just had a bad day, i don't know, but i do know i don't feel like retaking them... ;)

lol i studied a lot for physics b/c i took C mechanics adn that was my only physics class ever. I studied for 2 weeks after chem I for that sat ii, and it was just those damn TTCE things that gave me my ****ing 780. so close.

meh... 740, no effort... thank god i didn't do worse

yo steve, question what's the difference like topic wise between ap physics exam and the sat II physics?

uhhh in response to ur request before...

oh well...and btw ppl who got into sciences...whens the deadline for sending back your response? cuz im waiting on NJ scholars too and if i get into that.....the timing will be tricky....i hope at least one of you will get into SHARP or something so that i can go...:) heheh

if you take the physics B exam, you should def take the satII physics...C only covers mech so you might be at a disadvantage with all the e/m and wave topics (but its really not that hard anyway) i think im gonna take B, the satII and C mech this year...that should be funnnn

maverick - the response deadline is this friday, April 15. So you'll know very soon.

if you don't really want to go, please please please release the spot!! I'm also on the waitlist and I want to go so badly. Thanks!

W000000000 IM INNNNNNNNN YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY heheheh :))))))))))))

see u there lavenderdream (do u have an aim sn?)
and IWTGTGSS9 GOOD LUCK!!!

maverick, I'd rather email you or private message you for screennames and such, but it seems that you haven't set your settings so that I could do that ... feel free to private message me and whatnot.

Good job!!

Well, it depends which AP physics Exam. If its AP Physics B, the topics coincide very nicely and you will have to do minimal additional preparation. But, if you are doign AP Physics C Mechanics and/or Electricity and Magnetism there is a whole bunch of other stuff you have to study. These include things like waves, modern physics, heat, etc.

Maverick--how did you find out? Did they call/email/mail you? Arghhhh!! Thanks for the luck though :-)

well the lady that sends us the emails and stuff is EXTREMELY nice, and i was asking her what my chances realistically were, and she said that should would notify me somehow as soon as she found out...and she did lol. she called my house at like 9am this morning.

Is the NJ Governor's school a great place to go as a HS student?

My son is finishing up 8th grade & I'm looking everywhere for good summer programs.

go to their website and look at some of the college affiliations that the kids that went there have....in my opinion its pretty good. esp a really selective one like science (but theyre all really really good, im just a bit biased)
but i have to stress...upon reflection i realized that the summer program is not what gets these kids into those great schools....its what they did that got them in gov school in the first place that gets them in there. so yeah. its just a good time basically. :) plus its free.

also look into nj scholars program nasa sharp (i didnt really like it so i didnt apply) and look at rsi although child prodigies usually go there. have ur son look too though, cuz its HIS summer...

jolynne smyth* this program is only open to juniors tho...

oh thanks Maverick. Congrats by the way! Yea she is really nice--they've only taken 2 off the waiting list so far, I guess I'm just optimistic but I thought they would've taken more by now. Essh waiting is so hard especially when I have to plan my summer around it. I don't know if I'm just a really bad procrastinator, but lately I'm addicted to this site...not good with SAT II's around the corner :-)

number 12 on the list for sciences. Damn, it doesn't look like I'm going.
