I have been accepted to NJIT and Rowan. At both schools, I've been accepted into their honors program and for mechanical engineering.

I have visited Rowan and my impressions were only positive. I saw the mechanical engineering labs, workshop and their baja car project. The couple of students I talked to there seemed to like it. One had received his undergrad and was working on his graduate degree all at Rowan. He enjoyed it.

They also have their clinic program where students work on actual projects all four years, which I like. I've been through FRC robotics. Actually building things is meaningful to me.

My limited dealings with NJIT have been less than impressive. For starters, their website was horrible. So many documents for tuition etc.. were poorly scanned pictures posted as pdfs. Their system seemed plagued with bugs. I received multiple blank emails requesting documents I had already submitted. All in all, they did not seem like they had their stuff together and leave me feeling very uneasy about what seems to be a poorly run institution.

Can anyone provide some info on NJIT though? Did you go there yourself? How is the program structured? Are they competent? What are the facilities and labs like? Professors?

How do the colleges compare for internships and getting jobs afterwards?
