NKU and WKU BFA Programs

I am an arising senior from Louisville, Ky, and because of where my family stands right now, as a whole we feel it would be more realistic for me to attend an in-state college for theater instead of going out of state due to the dramatic difference in tuition. Well, I attend a theater magnet high school, and I've also trained at a conservatory since I was 8 years old, as well as worked at a small regional theater in the area on and off for 3 years. I know I want to receive my BFA. After thinking long and hard about all my options, I'm very convinced this is the path for me. Now to my question: NKU (Northern Kentucky) or WKU (Western Kentucky)?
They're both pretty good programs. Newer. We send students to both each year. They seem to have similar programs where you audition sophomore year, but I would think NKU would be a better option due to the fact that Cincinnati has such a strong theater district, and it is literally right across the bridge. I have also heard rumor that CCM and NKU share some of the same faculty (Someone confirm?). If you know anything about either program, please let me know!

Thanks,

Sounds like you answered your own question. It’s also pretty easy to verify the rumor about the CCM professors teaching at NKU- either google, look on their website, or call the department. Now, make sure your grades and standardized tests meet the requirements of both schools. Don’t slack off your senior year!

I do not know the standard for out of staters, but NKU is pretty easy to get into for Kentucky residents. 18 ACT and 2.0 GPA minimum, so I’m not worried about getting in. :)
