Does anyone know if it makes any difference if you name your school early or late (after the $2500 awards have gone out)? If you named your school choice, were accepted and they are a sponsoring college would this decrease your chances of getting the $2500 award? The reason I ask is D’s school choice only offers $1000.

sorry to be so late to reply. my S received a corporate scholarship. letter came from NMC

Finally my son also received his corporate scholarship award letter yesterday. Not sure if it will make any difference on the amount of the award if we submit the CSS/fafsa though, because we r not qualified for any thing from fafsa. Any suggestion?

For anyone still waiting, our notification came very late last year - I think it was in April sometime.

Our renewal paperwork has all been online questionnaires - asking for self-reported GPA, etc. Oldest D is graduating and they asked for her final stats and graduation honors.

Hi,

I just received the $2500 National Merit Scholarship. Should I notify Ivies about this today(i.e. Harvard, UPenn, Princeton)?

Thanks!

For those still waiting - I called NMSC again today.

There are still corporate scholarships that have not yet been decided. Hope remains. Winners of ours at least are expected to be notified at the end of next week.

icecream,

Probably just need to notify the college you’ll be attending.

My daughter just learned this week that she’s getting a corporate NMSC scholarship through my employer. The company isn’t even listed on the NMSC website so this comes as a big (and not un-welcome) surprise.

Congrats!!! Such a nice surprise!!
