No, it’s not. Many do not require even the filling out of FAFSA.

The Mercury News has just provided a complete list of National Merit corporate awardees from California:

Neither my D nor her friend who also applied for a (different) corporate scholarship have heard anything yet. So this week I finally called NMC. The person from scholarship management who answered the phone said they are still finalizing some awards. I asked if D would receive notice if she didn’t get the scholarship, and was told yes. However, we are still waiting for a letter.
@TheGFG I seem to remember something like that from previous years, where there were a few corporate awards that came out later than the rest. I hope that is the case and that you will hear from them soon.
@TheGFG Here’s a thread in which someone wasn’t notified of their corporate scholarship until May 6 in 2013 (Post #4).
Thanks, bunnyblue. I am pretty sure D didn’t get it. The NMC lady looked up D by her name, but she sounded a bit iffy and kept mispronouncing the company name. Regardless, since she said D would get a letter either way, I dropped it.
Finally got the rejection letter today: May 15.
Oh rats! Sorry you had this disappointment. Thanks for letting us know the outcome.
