NM Scholar Stuck Between Ole Miss and University of Oklahoma

I really would like some input because I’ve found myself struggling with this. I am in a good financial position for both schools (their NM packages are pretty great) and I’ve toured both and liked them. I’m looking to study international business or international studies with a focus in business. I’m not huge into football, I don’t think I’ll be rushing a Sorority, and I’m fairly quiet and introverted. I’m in IB and used to a heavy workload, and will also be entering with a decent bit of credit.

At Ole Miss, I’ve been accepted to the Croft Institute and have been offered the Croft Scholarship which, on top of my NM scholarship, will allow me to travel abroad with little worry. I am also in the Honors College and would stay in the Honors Dorm if I attended.

At OU, I have already registered (Because I really wasn’t expecting to hear anything back from Ole Miss about the Croft Scholarship) and have found a great roommate. I absolutely love the campus and think it is gorgeous. Their Business school offers a lot of opportunities like the JCPenny leadership program and I would be able to stay in the National Merit Dorms while I’m there. Plus, their dining hall is amazing.

Please tell me your thoughts! I know this is kinda weird, but I’m honestly so confused, I don’t know where to start.

All other things being equal, where can you picture yourself living the next 4 years?

That’s the issue; I can see myself both places, but I don’t know which one will be best. Both are beautiful campuses with communities I could get involved with.

What wonderful options!!

Take a look at the course catalogues and the specific degree requirements for the majors you are thinking about.
Take a look at estimated transportation costs to and from each campus.
Find out what the specific requirements are for you to maintain your scholarship at each place.

What is the GPA threshold to keep the scholarships?

Does either one come out ahead in terms of your out of pocket costs?

Isn’t the Ole Miss Scholarship a full ride including a meal plan?
Is the OU scholarship 5 years allowing you to stay for your MBA?

Well, to answer your questions, yes the Ole Miss is a full 4 years room/tuition plus stipend, but it doesn’t include meal plan (the stipend can take care of that, though) and OU is 5 but only covers room for 1. I guess that makes OU the more expensive out-of-pocket school. I believe the highest GPA requirement at Ole Miss is 3.5 while OU’s highest requirement is 3.25. Travel will be cheaper to Ole Miss as I live in GA and OU is quite a bit farther.
As for the courses, I’m having a hard time comparing because of the differences in programs. Croft is very international Studies focused while OU would be more business focused. I guess I’ll have to choose which one I like more.
