NMSQT Finalist -> Winner Question

Hello!
I wanted to ask about something. I scored a 227 on my PSAT in one of the top states, which is about 3-4 points above the bar for making NMSQT semifinalist in my state (I live in one of the toughest states). Assuming I make Finalist, which I'm told is a no-brainer if I jump through all their hoops, i wanted to know what the likelihood is that I'm going to get one of their $2,500 colleges (which I'm told they give to 2500 students). Does my relatively "low" score mean I'm not really qualified to win it, or do they award mostly based on the other criteria of the application?

Um the chance of you winning depends I think on your overall app. This might be wrong, but I think the PSAT i used to screen people.

Yes, after you passed the cut off, the application will depend on your essay, recommendation, and final SAT verification score. Only around 1/6 of students would get the $2500. You would have a much better chance to get something if you are eligible to any corporate or school sponsored scholarships.
