I agree with @thumper1 . Unfortunately HC might not be a viable option for you. It is time to look into other colleges.

So I talked to my dad. After a very very long conversation he is willing to pay for my four years of school at HC, as long as I work every summer and contribute that money to paying for my college along with a few other things I’m not going to go into. He also talked to my mom about it, as clearly this was not the deal, and apparently they worked something out. I’m not going to ask what that was. I think in the end he understood how the situation between my brother and I really was not fair. Thank you so much to everyone who contributed. I appreciated it and I brought up many of the topics discussed here with my dad, including him putting all the money for four years into a 529 which he said he will do Monday. Happy New Year!

I am glad it looks like it will work out for you.

Thank goodness!

So glad that he’s being reasonable in a situation that wasn’t well-thought-out at the time of divorce.

Some friends of mine handled this situation by requiring each parent to put money into each child’s college account on a monthly basis. The contribution amount was income-based because the H earned substantially more than the wife. The oldest child’s acct got an upfront bump to catch-up.
