it's been exactly 3months since my app is complete
but still haven't heard anything
is there anyone who applied around 11/1 and haven't gotten their decisions yet?
i didn't even get a letter requesting my mid yr report
what the heck is going on here~@@@
am i in trouble now???

whats your stats?

So it has been 14 weeks for me. Be patient, it'll come.

you have no idea how much trouble you are in.

i submitted art portofolio along with my app
could it be because of that?
and CCrunner, do you mean that i will most likely get rejected or somethin? if i haven't got my decision yet by this point?

haha, i was just joking around, sabeg.

Sabeg and hotctyplaya...you should both call the admissions office to make sure they have everything they need for your application. You guys should not worry (it can take up to 5 months to get a positive response for some applicants), but you should make sure everything is in order.

I did call, they said they have everything and a decision should be made in 2-3 weeks. So I'm cool with that. I'll call back in 3 weeks.

I sent in my application October 5th and still haven't heard anything...I realized something was wrong when I wasn't able to check the status online in about mid-December when my friend found out she got in (she sent her app in mid-November) but I was on the phone with them and emailing for about a week and the admissions office was no help...now I can at least see that my credentials were sent in by Nov 2 but UMich still has no record of my financial aid application. I want to send them a letter requesting my application fee back because this is ridiculous. My sister's friend was in a similar situation about 5 years ago, she never got a decision letter, and then in May she got an angry phone call from UMich that was like "you never told us whether you're coming or not"...overall I think their admission office is horribly unorganized and there is no need for this type of negligence.
It doesn't matter to me really anymore anyway, as I have since gotten into Georgetown and Emory and there is no chance I would pick Michigan over either of those schools.

I believe Michigan is doing a fine job, considering they have some 25,000 applications to deal with. Whenever I call them to ask a question concerning my application, they are always friendly and very helpful. Furthermore, I never had any sort of problem with my application. Although I have yet to be admitted, overall, it has been a very efficient process in my eyes and I commend Michigan for this.

I'm hoping to hear back soon as well. I submitted everything near the middle of November and everything was in by December 13th. It's been about 2 months, but I expect to have a decision sometime in March if not the end of this month. Is this normal? I found a mistake on WA a few weeks ago--it says that I am of FA interest when I didn't request FA on their application. Will this prolong my admission? I asked this question before and I was told that it shouldn't be a problem either way, and I did not want to call UMich at such a hectic time. Nonetheless, I'm starting to worry because people who have applied at the same time that I have already received their decisions. Help! Thanks

Georgetown has EA. but Emory only has ED I and II. If you got into ED II, then you'd have no choice. If you're RD for Emory, don't you hear back in April?

Yeha, if you know you're going to Emory, don't be a jerk, and take your application out of Michigan. It would help people who haven't heard yet.

is emory THAT much better than umich?
i didn't know
on what aspects?

Yeah, if you got in ED to a school, you are forced to go there. So it doesn't matter about Michigan and Georgetown, you signed a paper saying you'd go to Emory if you were accepted and now you are accepted. So you're going to Emory, please withdraw your application to all your other schools. It opens up spots for other students.

emory is not ranked much higher than u of m, if i remember correctly. not that the rankings mean anything.

jryan, always remember (for future reference, perhaps when you are applying to graduate school) that when applying to a university or program, the onus is on the applicant. You must follow up closely with all parties (the standardized test board, the university and the institutions that are sending your offical transcripts and recommendations) to make sure everything is in order. As some have mentioned above, when a university or program receives thousands of applicants, some will certainly get lost in the process. That happens with every university.

Sabeg, Emory and Georgetown are not better than Michigan. They are fine universities (my father and sister are both alums of Gergetown), but they are not better than Michigan. On the other hand, they can easily be a better fit for some students.

Does anyone know what I should do about my UMich application? I'm think I'm going to call them soon, but I'm wondering if anyone knows about the situation where WA states the applicant as being of "financial interest" when the applicant did not actually sign up for FA. I read a thread in the UMich forum and other people have noticed this as well but have stated that it shouldn't be a problem since FA and admissions are separate anyway. Anyone know what to do in this situation?

I have only submitted my application a week before the feb 01 deadline... However, I am enthusiastic to hear reply from university since if not accepted I may apply to australian universities (they have late application deadline). Will they send me a letter of notification or do i have to check online? Sorry I am very clueless about the admission process :D
