No AP math... worth applying?

I recently toured Harvard and loved it. I am very well rounded, but was not able to juggle advanced math my junior year and thus will not be in AP Calc next year. I will be in an intro to calc and intro to stats class instead. I have a 34, I’m an all-state athlete and I will graduate with 9 AP credits (I have taken 5 so far, and all were fives except for a 4 on bio). I would not be any sort of STEM major, but I think that not having an AP math may already put me out of the running.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

contact the Harvard coach for your sport and see if he is interested in recruiting you.

Not having an AP math class is not a deal-breaker; there are applicants accepted to Harvard that only had pre-calc.

I agree with both posts above. There will be some students at Harvard that haven’t taken calculus, so that won’t “put you out of the running”.

And yes, if you’re recruitable in your sport, then you’ll have a much easier time being admitted.

You can still apply. I know a student personally who didn’t take precalc either.
