No AP Sciences Senior Year

Hi guys. This is like... my second question about AP Science but college apps are right around the corner and I'm getting pretty paranoid. Anyway, my question is whether or not colleges will criticize me for not taking an AP Science. I'm going to take AP English and Lit, AP American Governement, AP Spanish, and AP Calculus.

The thing is, my interests are all over the place and I didn't feel like I could handle FIVE AP classes so I took an honors science class instead. I figured that since I'd have a science focus in college, I should pursue my other interests and, if I thought I could handle five AP's, I'd take AP Bio but I ultimately decided not to because I felt that I couldn't handle five. I'd rather not risk getting a low score.

Is it commendable to follow your other interests before college or is it a bad thing that I'm taking honors science instead of AP?

If you are going into science in college, then I would highly recommend an AP since the exam score will get you out of A LOT of classes. You don’t have to and colleges won’t really mind, but I feel like taking science courses shows more interest. For example, I’m dropping all my humanities and taking 3 science classes senior year.

Wow, what 3 science classes are you going to take in senior year?

My son already took Chem H, AP Chem, Bio H, and AP Physics and is thinking not taking any science class his senior year. Since he is going to major in engineering, does it look bad to not take AP Bio? How about taking AP Environmental Science instead of AP Bio?
