I moved to the US two years ago. I didn’t have info on how classes worked, so I took mostly on-level classes my sophomore year. I had to do my freshmen and sophomore year in one (which was okay because my school had a block schedule) then junior year I moved to a bigger and harder High School, so I refused to take AP’s here too. I have taken Chem honors, Advanced math, and Honors human anatomy. I have A’s in all my classes, but I don’t know if that is enough. I plan to take AP Calc BC, AP Bio, and AP Spanish next year. Should I take more AP’s? I am worried about my chances to get into a good school with limited AP’s
You are fine. You just moved here and needed to adapt to the educational system (and maybe learn English as well). There will be plenty of colleges and universities that understand this.
What colleges are you thinking of?
What major (your APs should make sense).
It depends on the colleges that you are applying to but remember that AP calc Bc, and AP chem are one of the hardest AP classes so probably not wise to take another AP class unless you know you can do well.
I think you’re fine but without knowing other things like potential colleges and major, as myos mentions, how many APs does your hs offer, what do the top students in the hs take wrt rigorous classes, to it’s tough to evaluate. I would not load up on AP courses senior year, maybe one more depending on your other classes (non-honors electives).
