No Chance at Stanford, UPenn M&T, Ivies??

Hey all,

It'd be great to get some input on my perceivably low chances on getting into my top schools; I know I'm not nationally ranked in any math/science competition or have cured cancer, but I'm hoping for some great insight from you cc members!

With that said, please take a look at my credentials and maybe take a gander at where you think I could be accepted? (Early or RD) I do have safeties in mind.

Significant ECs (Leaving out trivial stuff like CM Piano, etc):
*Speech & Debate since freshman year. (3rd place, 8th place, 2nd place at State consecutively - lucky, I know. Got screwed over not qualifying to nationals though)
-Club V.P.

*County Search and Rescue Team - 3 years, 120 hours a year

*Competitive Latin/Ballroom Dance, 1st Place Regionals last year (I do a mean cha-cha)

*NHS President at large public high school

*Founded Hip-Hop Dance/Bboy Club at school freshman year, really weird for an AP kid I know, but I love it. We perform for school rallies and fundraising shows.

*Volunteer Videography for non-profit Youth Foster Homes (produce promotional clips for their galas and events and stuff; kids are awesome)

*Co-leader for Worship Team at my church. I've played guitar/keyboard on Sundays for about three years. Jesus-Freak! :P

*Herd impoverished alpacas in Guatemala every summer

Totally joking about that last one

*And finally: I was lucky enough to intern this past summer for an angel investor organization. I am hoping to get the CEO/founder to write a rec letter for me about how brilliant and handsome I am, or something along those lines. They are very well known in the Bay Area especially by Stanford so I'm hoping this will score me some brownie points.

Please keep your responses civil and constructive! And thank you for your time :)

I personally think you have good stats, but don’t know about what the perfectionists at CC think. As you know, there are going to be extremely stellar students applying, herding alpacas and all, and even they will be rejected. So, I would focus on the essay, which is uniquely you and will make you stand out in the app game. Write an essay as mean as your cha cha and you’ll have a chance of admission. Good luck! :)

Yeah, I mean, you seem like a competitive applicant. Everything is fine i think. No one can really say more than that.
