I still have not received e-mails from some of the colleges I have applied to saying the standard "your application is complete blah blah blah."
Too soon still to worry?
Also, two in particular I applied for a fee wavier from, but all of my materials were submitted on time and everything.
Insights?

The vast majority of colleges do NOT send confirmation e-mails. If you know for sure that those on your list are among the ones that do, then you should contact them about two weeks after all materials have been submitted to find out why you haven’t received your notice.

In fact, all applicants need to stay on top of their applications and contact colleges about two weeks after submission to make sure that all is well. (Unless, of course, the college has already sounded the all-clear via email, Web site, post card, etc.)

If you do call the college and find out that materials are still missing, don’t panic … at least not yet. It can take more than two weeks for all those mountains of materials to be processed. Thus many a candidate has had a heart attack for no reason after being told that critical application components never arrived. In many cases, those materials are still stacked up on a secretary’s desk.

So if you do find out that your materials didn’t arrive, ask if you should wait a bit longer or replace them immediately. Even if the deadline has already passed, you won’t be penalized as long as you respond promptly.

In addition, if you’ve applied for a fee waiver, it’s wise to confirm that the waiver has been accepted when you’re calling to confirm the safe arrival of your application. In most cases, the waiver is just a formality , but it can’t hurt to double-check since you’ll be calling anyway.
