I submitted my application in December but have not had my interview yet. I do go to a boarding school in a fairly remote area, but I have had interviews with 4 other schools so far. At this point, should I assume that I’m not getting an interview or should I call Admissions and find out what’s up?
Admissions just forwards a student’s contact information to the local alumni association, which schedules the interview. So I wouldn’t call Admissions as they are not responsible for scheduling interviews.
Try this: Google your local Harvard Alumni Association and see if there is a section on the website for recruiting alumni interviewers. For example, if you live in the St. Louis area, google “St Louis Harvard alumni association” and then navigate to volunteer: http://www.harvardclubstl.org/volunteer.html. Then contact the person in charge and let them know you applied, but haven’t been scheduled for an interview yet.
