My kid applied, but unlike all the other places she applied, UPS doesn't mail, email, call, anything. Crickets. Is it like this for everyone else?

My daughter applied regular decision and we have not heard anything yet. Website says notification for regular decision is by April 1. Hopefully we will hear before then.

I don’t even mean admissions decisions. I mean anything. No correspondence at all. All the other schools pepper us with information all the time. Do they mail or email you or your daughter?

A couple days after applying my D received a general brochure in the mail, but she also received an email with log in information:
“Thank you for your interest in University of Puget Sound. You can now access our Student Gateway by following the link below. Once you have logged in, you will be able to confirm what pieces of your application have arrived at Puget Sound.”

I do not have the date of the email but since she applied on the 15th it was not long after she submitted the app. You may want to contact them!

Thanks. Maybe she has something ignored in her email. But besides that, I take it you aren’t getting intermittent messages from the school?

I guess now that you mention it, we really don’t get much from them in the mail, especially compared to all of the other schools. She has received a couple of pieces of mail about the music program at Puget Sound because she had expressed interest at one point. But other than that, not much. I’m not sure about emails to my daughter. I would ask her but she is sleeping - yes, in the middle of the day!

We have not been getting intermittent messages from the school that I know of, but D may be getting emails that I do not know about. She only gave me info from that one because I offered to check on her apps since she had finals followed by a trip last week. Being a teenager getting info from her is like pulling teeth.
No mail from them until after she applied though.

She found her login, which brought her to a screen to check if she submitted everything, which she had. It was so bare bones, and didn’t even lead to the school web site. It’s funny, it’s like they don’t really care about having applicants at all.

Son applied some 4 years ago, I don’t remember what he received from UPS. I remember that he was contacted frequently by one school in particular, not by others. Second son is a freshman this year, I think he applied to 8 or 9 schools, he was contacted other than bare acknowledgement by maybe two or three of those. I would not draw any negative conclusions from lack of contact, UPS is a very caring, supportive place.

I saw on Twitter yesterday that some applicants just received acceptances this week. Has anyone here heard yet?

My D got hers in the mail today. Yay. In a little envelope marked “good news inside.”

My D also received a little envelope with good news today. It included her scholarship award.

Still waiting here on the East Coast!

Still waiting in CA as well. We assumed she would get in and were hoping for enough merit to make it somewhat comparable to UCs, so now I am worried we were overconfident!

We’re still waiting in Chicago, too. The website says we should hear by April 1, so maybe the people who have heard early are the best of the best.

My S received his “good-news” letter on Tuesday, Feb. 18th. The letter, which stated he’d been accepted and notified him of a merit-based award, was dated Feb. 14th. With the exception of one other kid from my son’s school, who was also accepted, others at the school haven’t heard yet, but my son’s letter said the official packet, which would include any financial aid, would be mailed in late March.

Puget Sound sends out a limited number of offer letters on Feb. 14. These are usually to students getting merit award offers. The rest should hear within a few weeks. Good luck to all!

My daughter received an email today that told her to log in to her Cascade account if she wanted good news. Accepted with Trustee Scholarship!

My D was accepted!

My younger son received a “wink” letter in February, but there are lots of teens going to get good news and merit money as March progresses. (A lot of SLACs send these letters out to their hottest prospects.) My older son is a current Bio major at Puget Sound (class of 2016). I have great things to say about his experience at the school, and I know how hard it is to pick a school so here’s my review:

All classes seem to be under 20 students
Professors are totally accessible
He’s gotten all his classes
Profs can be reached (by students) and they consistently open up new sections when things are full
Workload can be heavy first semester Frosh year, as writing takes a big leap forward
(Greek rush, if applicable, is second semester for freshman, thank goodness)
Students are very involved and engaged
Very friendly on all fronts
One-third are from CA so our house is full of his friends over the winter break
Parents council gives you a chance to get involved, if you like
Gorgeous (and very safe)
Don’t need a car: WA mass transit is excellent, Zip cars on campus, easy shuttles to airport
