My S has the following message on his admission decision screen "We are unable to offer you a decision on your application at this time". What does this mean? Decisions were supposed to be made by April 1.

DS had the same message, but when we went under a different route, it was there...sorry can't remember which way we went. Also, they may have just not gotten to his name yet...keep positive, it might already be there!

Call them ASAP.

Possibly he is on the borderline position, where in that case you will be asked to submit supplementary materials such as first quarter grades from senior year and other materials.

Yes it means he is being considered. I should know. I have gotten the same decision the past two times. Once during priority, and once during regular. Instead of knowing by february I was told I would know by april. Instead of now knowing by april, I have no clue when i will find out. Fine by me, College park can go to hell.

I agree - we are fed up with the school. On Mar 13 we got an email congratulating my S on his acceptance to the Clark School of Engineering and inviting him to come visit. One hour later we got an email saying oops - ignore that previous email. When we asked the sender if that meant he did not get in she gave some vague response about it only being for those who have received their admission decision, referring to my son by the wrong name. In addition, he has no interest in Engineering. If this is how they deal with the admissions process, I can only imagine how they handle other administrative matters.

I agree. Very frustrating dealing with this admissions office. Nobody ther seems to have a clue. Other schools with as many applicants have at least tried to be courteous and helpful.

What to know how they handle other administrative issues?

My d had a 31 ACT, INTEL semi + 3 years of lab research @ a Northeast Uni starting at 15 years of age, corresponded with world wide researchers via phone and email since 15 for her INTEL submission.
Music, volunteer etc. All honors till 10th grade then all APs 5 years of science lab, 5 years of Math 5 years of language.
GPA 95 no weight given below 95 in AP

Did priority, did not even get Spring admission. I spoke to admissions, I was told to resubmit everything with mid term grades, updated recs her research etc.

That is fine if they don't want her to attend we are fine with that no love lost, BUT,. when GC called to enquire if anything was amiss as there were questions if things were missing, she called TWENTY times, logged every call then the Superintendant phoned, still NOT ONE RETURNED PHONE CALL. Super phoned regional admissions as well, NOT ONE RETURNED PHONE CALL.

GC inquired at other local high schools if they have run into similar issues with UM and they too were incensed with the lack of any return or acknowlegement of their kids apps just something, some feedback. ZERO ZIP.
Our SD will be honest with the 09 kids about what went on this year, and I surely will give my two cents to everyone I know.

End of rant, just a catharsis so forgive the venom.

I have not reveived a decision yet either. Im pretty ****ed off since the last ive heard from them was a letter asking for the 55 dollar application fee and saying they received everything they needed from me. It seems like they jsut stole my money >:(

My d has the same story. I have been tryig to talk to someone there for two days now. You should call because it seems like it is in error that there is no decision.

Ok. Finally heard back. Some decisions were not released yet. My d's is going out in the mail tomorrow with online posting either tomorrow or day later.
