No deferred payment plan option!?

Does Berkeley no longer accept payments in monthly installments? There is no longer any option available in eBill for deferred payments, and the "Message" section of the bill doesn't say what amount to pay to elect the deferred plan.

There's just no way I can afford to pay over $6,000 upfront.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Also, does anyone know where I can find a phone number for the department responsible for handling student billing/tuition?

I was wondering about this too… tried searching for it for like an hour, couldn’t find anything… lol. Does this option usually appear really close to the deadline? haven’t used it before…

I called the registrar office about 3 months ago and they said they still had the option to defer. And I called some lady last weeka dn she said that the minimum we have to pay is 20% of the semester fees. Does anyone know what that would be? Is it 20% of just educational fee or everything? If everything than it should be $1091.50

Instead of looking at the registration fees you should look at your bill. I don’t know why there is no deferred payment option now, but usually you pay 20% of the complete registration fees shown on your bill.

If someone decides to call them about it, please post the answer here.
I tried to call but couldn’t get through so I just ended up paying what I think is right.

i had the same problem so i called and got through on my 3rd attempt, i told them the installment amount to pay for the deferred plan wasn’t showing and the guy said that is because my grant paid some of the fees, he further said that the amount to pay for each installment will show on my feb 15th statement along with the $40 differed participation fee, so apparently if you have any grant than you will likely not have to pay anything today

I called… you just pay the 20% of the total fees due… don’t need to select an option for it, just type that amount when paying.

I got a new E-Bill today which included the deferred payment option.
