No hope for Ivy League?

I just took the ACT for the first time and have been feeling in the dark about how good of a college I can get into. I want to major in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science. My dream school is MIT but that seems impossible. I go to a small rural public school with ~100 in the graduating class and the school has no clubs besides one for small community service projects. Currently there are only 3 AP courses offered (Govt, US Hist, Calc AB) and Spanish will be added next year so will my lack of AP's ruin my chances of going to a good school? My school gives no information about any summer programs or internships which I am afraid is sealing my fate again.

So my main question is, do I have a chance to go to a good school or am I doomed to a state school?

I spend all my free time programming video games and websites but sadly my school has no activities related to that stuff so does anyone have any suggestions for something that could help get into college with these skills?

70 years of community service???!!! Your only a junior too which means you are around 17. Damn, thats dedication right there, someone needs to do a newstory on you.

^LOL. Start a club?

well it doesn’t hurt to try right?

You are a male named Julia? Hmmm. You also only have one Ivy on that list so your title is strange.

You will be judged by what was available to you. Take all the APs if you can do well. Taking college classes will help you. Starting a club is not a bad idea. You have engineering classes so your school is somewhat IT based? What about a robotics, IT, or computer club? Also, many schools don’t offer much help in the way of summer programs, so you’re not alone there. You obviously found the internet, that is your best tool! CC has a great forum for summer programs. I am a big advocate of just getting involved in your own community, finding a volunteer opportunity based on your interests.
