I got my housing application on the mail on May 3rd, but the application said it needs to be send before May 1st or it will be considered on a space available basis. I got my admission decision later than everyone else and got until May 19th to pay the deposit although I payed it before. Is there a chance I will be given housing since I got the application for it later than the deadline?! I'm so worried, if I don't get campus housing I don't know what I will do! If anyone has gone through this too or has any suggestions on what to do, please let me know, Thank You!

Dear Anpeju,
My son is a Spring '07 Admit/Freshman Conx and wasn't guaranteed
housing Sep-JUn. He toothe rquired 1 yr lease at the new luxury off-campus bldg "The Towers" and will take the UMCP shuttle bus to campus. It,s about $2,500 more than the usuak annual dorm charge. You might want to consider it. It's listed as recomm by UMCP on their website for housing. Good luck.

My friend actually moved off campus to University View voluntarily after his freshman year. His Dad said that although the rent is more - it winds up being cheaper ebcause he didnt have to sign up for a meal plan and the roommates cook for themselves and its less expensive. If your classes are over on that side of campus - its still within walkng distance - plus you can have a car - you get a parking place. If you don't get on campus housing - see what the housing department recommends for finding roommates who want to share housing at Univ View!

I would call them up and say hey, i didn't receive it till after can i turn it in late, and then send it right to them.

I don't know how it is now, but back in the Spring of '04, I didn't give them confirmation/housing agreement until April 30th at 11:58PM and I still found housing fine (although I was in a triple).

If you're social, I HIGHLY advise you to live on campus your first year. You will meet a lot of friends that you'll have throughout your entire time at CP.
