No idea about what to write on my supp essay

I used my Common App essay to showcase my passions, and I feel it’d be redundant to do so again in the Supp essay. I would really appreciate it if I could learn what others chose to write about. I’m not going to steal your ideas, so don’t worry about plagiarism. I just have no clue if this essay’s supposed to be one of passion, personal story, interest in school, a political polemic, etc. The prompts are very out of the blue, and I wish they’d provide a little more direction.

PS The only idea I have so far is writing about my favourite teacher who taught me back in grades 2 and 3, usimg prompt #5 (“I am not a machine…”). I don’t know if this is too cliche, too irrelevant, etc. Please help.

I almost did prompt #5, but ended up doing the "cargo" one. My college counselor suggested writing about something everyone can relate to for #5, like feelings everyone has....then circling back to yourself on the issue.

You can also try analyzing the quotes word-by-word. This is what I did for my essays. Just write down EVERYTHING that comes to mind on a sheet of paper, and you may come to some conclusions that were previously unclear.

Yeah, the one dealing with science and the universe can be bent to almost anything you want. The more I thought about the quote, the more I came to understand it, or at least my interpretation of it.

I did the science/universe one and it is the only essay I am at all confident about for any of my apps.

does the science/universe one work for humanities students?

I am a humanities person, but I liked the science/universe thing best. I think what matters most is that you write about what you're most comfortable with.
