I love to read and write! And I want to become a book editor. I'm not even sure what I should major in, let alone what schools would be beneficial for such a career. Every time I search for answers online I don't find very much.

We need a lot more info…

Are you a junior or senior?

What are your grades and test scores?

Will your parents pay for whatever school you get accepted to? If not, then finances will influence where you should apply.

What state are you in?

I’m a Junior, I get mostly A’s and right now my GPA is 3.728 unweighted. I haven’t yet taken the ACT. I live in Illinois and I don’t think my parents would pay for just any college.

Common majors for editors are English and Journalism. Editors

Do this:

1) Ask your parents how much they’ll spend each year on college. If they seem vague, or have a “wait and see” approach, then you need to protect yourself and make sure you have some financial safeties.

2) Take both the ACT and SAT…you need the best scores…and some do better on the SAT. Don’t limit yourself to just the ACT.

Did you take the PSAT? how did you do?
