No Ipods!?!?!?!?!!

I got a full ride to Duke. Class of '98. Was the most awesome time of my life. Let me know if there are any questions I can help with.

how do you get in? LOL

the IPOD is superficial, the acceptance is what really matters!

duke has so much more to offer other than ipods. plus if you/your family are going to pay those thousands of tuition ... go buy yourself an ipod ... minis are 179 with edu discount. sheesh

I Was Kidding Around!!! Let The Post Die!! Please!!!!!!!!!

lol they should send iPods along with their rejections letters, to console the students who don't get accepted

Would be so funny if they did.. anyways like the guy who said that before me, Duke giving out free iPods is sexy.

there is such a thing as an edu discount for ipods?? do share the info

I believe there is an apple store discount for students - they have online "stores" for different schools, and will give you nice discounts according to the agreement they have with the school.

As for the iPods, they were meant to be far more extensive and academic than they actually became. Although there is a class that used iPods as a means of distributing readings, and multiple first-year language classes that have recordings they make you listen to, they don't serve all that much of an academic purpose. I do have a professor who records all her lectures and makes them available as iPod content a week before exams, though. I heard that the possibilities were going to be endless, and that it was going to be a really amazing collaboration project with apple, but it doesn't seem to have materialized in quite the way they hoped.

That said, we got a recording device with the ipods, and it's certainly nice to be able to record lectures/panels/speakers you decide to go to.

How do you get in? HARD WORK. Duke really is good about considering EVERYTHING, not just scores or grades or activities. Show that you are a very intelligent, involved, well-rounded person and that gives you the best chance.

I WANT IPOD. I got in.. i want ipod...heheh psycho ipod monster mode..

they should send the ipod with their admissions packets

I Want Ipod Too...my Mom Will Never Buy Me One........

you know, i would rather take tickets to the NC game than an ipod, but thats just me.

NC tickets are worth more, too - i've heard of people paying in the thousands for a ticket, and parking alone is rumored to cost $200. I don't know how true it is, but still.
