No Longer An International Student: Appeal Process?

I recently acquired a green card and by recently I mean three days ago... I currently live in the US and have for 10 years but due to government issues was not able to get a green card till now. I contacted all my colleges two days ago and yesterday to update my info and faxing my green card to them. Besides Harvard, Princeton, Yale, and Dartmouth I know all my schools are not need-blind when it comes to looking at my application. Besides those 4 when I called they all seemed to indicate that my change in status should have no affect in decision, but I decided to send appeals to these colleges in order to get my app reviewed as a domestic student. The colleges were NU (Rejected), Wash U(Waitlisted), Stanford(No decision as of yet), Columbia/Fu(No decision as of yet), and Cornell(No decision as of yet). Do you think these schools will reconsider me with a need-blind policy or stick with the decision they most likely already have since they have decisions this week? I am hoping they allow a rare case like me to be reviewed once more.

Thanks,

Apparently Northwestern will not review the decision even if it was influenced by financial aid.

All you can do is call and ask. Each institution sets its own policy about this so there is no way to predict how their decisions will go.

The big change though is that now you should have a clear in-state residence status for the public colleges and universities in the state where you reside. Pick up the phone and call them and find out if you still have time to apply in that status or to change to that status if you have already applied. Your whole admissions and financial safety system has changed.

Congratulations, and good luck!

I filed Adjustment of Status papers for UIUC and UIC and they both approved me to be view as resident for decisions and aid and am already accepted to both. I am just worried about the private universities.

Thanks for the response
