No mention of merit scholarships?

So I got into CAS + the Accelerated Medical Program. Nowhere in my admissions decision letter does it say that I got any merit scholarships, nor does it say that they cannot offer me any now - I did not apply for FA either. I did pick BU as my top choice for National Merit Finalist. Should I assume that I didn’t receive any merit scholarships? I’m going to call them too some time next week as well and hope for a scholarship letter in the mail. :(

My s got in too. No mention of any merit scholarship. He’s going to be on the phone Monday also!

Same here.

I got a $10k Dean’s Scholarship… It wasn’t in the letter but instead appeared under “MERIT AWARD DECISION” which, for me, is located under “ADMISSION DECISION”.

may i ask what are your stats for a deans scholorship? and is it limited to specific schools?

@ biganthony
School of Management
SAT I: 2050
GPA: 3.7
Rank: Top 15%
-Put a lot of time into both my common app essay and bu essays

I don’t know if the scholarship is limited to certain schools but the college I was accepted to wasn’t acknowledged in the scholarship letter.

This is what it says about the award on the FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE DECISION page:

Boston University $10,000 tuition scholarship offered to academically talented, need-based aid applicants with minimal or no calculated need, but with calculated financial contributions which do not substantially exceed the cost of attendance at Boston University. To be considered, an entering student must file the PROFILE and FAFSA by February 15. Renewal criteria: students must satisfactorily complete at least 12 credits each semester and achieve a minimum grade point average of 3.00 for the prior academic year. Additional information and requirements are specified in the Guide to Your Merit Award.

So I guess you might have to have an EFC near the cost of attending BU to get it?

Hey guys,

Congrats to all those who got accepted! I applied to the Accelerated Medical Program, and strangely I’m still waiting on my decision – it still says “You decision is not currently available online.” I do have some documents posted on the sidebar, like the “Deans Welcome” letter basically welcoming me to BU. I was wondering, for people accepted to the Accelerated Med Program – did you guys have any other documents there? What do you see under the decisions link? I’m just trying to get a hint about whether I’ve been accepted to the program, since I can’t call the admission office till Monday.

Thanks a bunch!

Congrats to everyone!
@champion11
I got the same message too, as well as the sidebar documents! Hopefully our decisions will be up soon? I’m assuming we got accepted to CAS… but I’m not sure about the Accelerated Medical Program either. :S Are you by any chance an international applicant?
