No more Guitar Hero

'Guitar Hero' is silenced by Activision - msnbc.com

Sad day. This was definitely one of the best ways to keep guests entertained. Plus, it was one of the few games that your girlfriend would play with you. You will be missed.

Wow. this is literally the worst day in my life. that was honestly one of my fav games ever

:(! Guitar Hero is the game. Good memories from eighth grade/freshman year.

They oversaturated the market with Guitar Hero games, it was likely to happen.

This comes as little surprise to me. Guitar Hero peaked with II and III, and declined steadily since then. I remember pouring days into II and III (I was that kid, the one who could beat TTFAF on expert), but being sorely disappointed and underwhelmed with World Tour. That’s when I hopped off the bandwagon.

I agree that Guitar Hero peaked at 3. That is when Guitar Hero played a ton of rock, metal, and some blues. Guitar Hero afterwards had too many pop bands. Paramore, 3 Doors Down, and No Doubt have NO place in a guitar oriented game. Wayyy too pop oriented.

Guitar Hero had been dying for a few years now

^^I agree. GH3 is my favorite.

This was predicted, Rock Band is more and more taking over that genre of video games and as the source said the sales blow for GH after GH3. Not that there isn’t any replay value in the remaining GHs aye?

I am glad though they cancel True Crime that looked horrible and just a waste of money!
Lol.
